Senior Spotlight #4: William Applegarth

Meet William, member of GC’s Wrestling Team and Rugby Team, who enjoys going to the gym and playing video games in his free time. He’s a Cancer and is going to the University of Maryland College Park in the fall, where he wants to major in sports exercise. Here’s our senior spotlight interview with him!

What’s your advice for freshmen?

“Do your work on time. Don’t be like me. It puts you in very unnecessarily stressful situations. Don’t try to lie to your teachers. It’s stupid and they know if you’re lying to them.”

What’s your favorite class or teacher?

“Dr. Devinne is definitely my favorite teacher. His teaching style is different, it’s cool. I like sports exercise science [as my favorite class] because I’m really interested in it.”

What is your favorite GC lunch food?

General Tso’s chicken and Bao Bar

What’s one thing you wish you could change or have done differently?

“Turn in my work on time. At the end of the quarter, I think ‘why didn’t I just do this on time?’ It would’ve been so much easier.”

What GC senior would you want on your side of the apocalypse?

“If I’m in the apocalypse, I’m probably going to be in the woods. Martin Gaszner has a lot of knowledge about the wilderness. But he’s also skinny, so if it comes down to it, I wouldn’t want to eat him… But he’s got nature skills, and we’d be able to complement each other because those are skills I don’t have.”
