Good Counsel offers a broad amount of art classes for students to take for either a credit or out of interest. With so many different styles of visual representation, there are unique values of each art class here at GC. For example, here are the art classes presented by Good Counsel:
First, we have “Art Fundamentals,” a class where you learn multiple art styles such as painting, clay, and drawing. You will be able to learn different shading techniques and get advice on your beginning work! Two other classes taken at GC are “Honors Drawing” & “Honors Painting,” where you will learn to spot and correct errors in artistic work with critical thinking and developing artistic production within the context of the material using deep observation skills.
Then we have “Honors Ceramics & Sculpture,” which is a class that, like “Honors Drawing” and “Honors Painting,” allows you to spot and correct errors in artistic artwork but, being ceramics, brings the creative portion to a third-dimensional standpoint. The class also goes into the complex study of said ceramics and sculpture. Another class GC Offers is “AP Studio Art I,” which is a class where students will start to deal with serious concepts and sharpen and focus on new and improved technical skills to build their portfolio for self-artistic benefits later in the future.
Finally, GC Offers “IB Studio Art SL/HL,” a class that goes back into the principles and elements of art. More projects will be given throughout the class than any other art class, focusing on critical thinking exercises.
Good Counsel is proud to offer various artistic experiences to all students as they continue exploring their interests.
