Senior Spotlight #6: Brandon Brooks

Meet Brandon, member of the Chamber Choir, Good Counsel Theater Company, African Students Association, and president of the Black Students Association, who enjoys going to games and concerts in his free time, especially at GC. He is an Aries and is going to Drexel University next year as a pre-law student. Here’s our senior spotlight interview with him!

What’s your favorite extracurricular activity?

“Definitely choir because I get to sing and perform for my friends and family.”

What’s your advice for freshmen?

“First, don’t procrastinate because the workload increases as you get older. Second, be kind to the people around you. You never know what they’re going through. Only give what you want back. Give them good energy, so they can reciprocate it.”

What’s your favorite class and teacher?

“My favorite class is choir, and my favorite teacher is Mr. Spottswood. He’s been with me for 4 years and he understands everything about me and has helped me grow my technique in singing and personality.”

What’s your favorite GC lunch food?

General Tso’s chicken and sticky rice

What’s your favorite trend from the last 4 years?

“My favorite trend is probably the tiktok dances because it’s a lot of fun.”

What’s one thing you wish you could change or have done differently?

“I wish I was more confident in myself. As a freshman I never realized how confident I could be. I wish that I was able to understand my goals more clearly freshman year than I do now so I could have more confidence in myself to be able to understand that I can do this.”

What GC senior do you want on your side of the apocalypse?

“I have a few in mind. The person I would choose is reliable, a good friend, and I know we’d be able to survive the apocalypse together. I’d choose Kendal Jones.”
