The Austringer is the student-run literary and arts magazine at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. The title, Austringer, refers to one who partakes in falconry: the art of hunting or taming falcons, our school mascot. As such, the mission of the magazine here at Good Counsel seeks to capture the artistic spirit of the student body in the form of art, poetry, prose, and non-fiction essays. The finished product reflects a combined appreciation for the arts, and our hopes that the larger community may share in it.

Soon, the Austringer will be launching it’s 2020 submissions contest that will feature prizes for the cover, art, photography, short fiction, and poetry. Winners will receive an Amazon gift card! The deadline is April 14th, the day we return from spring break. There are many talented students here at GC, and the Austringer is looking forward to receiving some excellent student work this year!
