Greetings Good Counsel Community and Talon Readers,

As we approach the end of the 2024-2025 school year at Good Counsel, I want to take a moment to reflect on the progress, growth, and passion that have developed within the Talon community. As one of the Co-Executive Editors, I invite all of you to join me in this reflection. 

Throughout this Talon year, we had numerous opportunities for both our staff and our audience to grow. Guest speaker Jon Clements shared valuable insights on photojournalism and photography techniques. Our Talon information tables for Student Freedom of the Press Day provided important information about private schools and amendment rights. Additionally, articles and columns, such as the one about the Google Suite removal, gave students a platform to voice their opinions in a way that hadn’t been utilized before. 

Joining the Talon in my freshman year has turned into a meaningful experience for me. The welcoming community that I helped build alongside other Talon members is something I will cherish forever, and I am truly grateful for it. 

As we look ahead to the 2025-2026 school year, I am excited to announce that Annabel Seyoum ‘26 will join current Co-Executive Editor Maggie Friel ‘26 to help maintain and enhance the integrity and quality of The Talon and our “Tuesdays with The Talon” initiative. 

As I prepare to move on to college, I will always remember the support The Talon provided in helping me find my voice. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Maggie, Ms. Neugebauer, Ms. Evans, and Mrs. Essig for giving me the opportunity to grow and express myself.
