And now…. meet Matthew Chan: YouTuber extraordinaire. He is a Gemini who is heading to Towson University majoring in Electronic Media & Film.

Here is our senior spotlight interview with him!

What’s your favorite extracurricular activity?

Probably Falcon News Network and working with GCTC for the set for Tuck Everlasting. Just seeing everyone’s reaction to the musical was honestly the best feeling and I enjoyed every minute of it.

What is your advice for freshmen? 

To work hard and do not fall behind in your grades.  You don’t want to come and build stress if you fall behind. Go ask people for help or go to the teacher.  Good Counsel is meant to be a community and there’s going to be a lot of people there that will help you succeed and will not let you fail.

What’s your favorite class and teacher?

Probably Ms. Cissell and Forensic Science.  I enjoy learning about how crime scenes play out and understand how crimes get solved. Also, Strength and Conditioning with Coach Perry was great because it made me feel more confident about myself and I felt better than ever.

What’s your favorite GC lunch food?

General Tso’s Chicken like everyone in the school says, lol.  The flavor of it goes so hard.

What is your favorite GC tradition?

You can’t go wrong with football games and spirit week. Always had a fun time at those events and I enjoy every single hype moment of it. 

What’s one thing you wish you could change or have done differently?

Probably one thing that I wish I could have done better or if I could change something in my life, it would probably be that maybe I should have been more of myself and less on putting a fake persona that I’m not really.  It was very hard to try and fit in but very recently and last year, I started to find more enjoyment in making new friends and meeting new people!

What GC senior do you want on your side of the apocalypse?

Probably Teddy Howard since he can use his golf clubs to swing at the zombies or robots or whatever is attacking us. If he unfortunately doesn’t make it, I may probably choose someone from football or someone who does wrestling since I think they can be very quick and very powerful.
