Meet Andrew Evans: pitcher on the GC baseball team! He is an Aries who is planning to attend the University of Mississippi majoring in business analytics. Here is our senior spotlight interview with him!
What’s your favorite extracurricular activity?
Baseball and or going to the gym. Started baseball when I was seven and have loved it ever since. Playing from clubs such as UMAC to Dig in then to playing for Good Counsel. Have bounced around different positions on the field but have stuck to what I’m passionate about and more focused on which is pitching. As with the gym I started from 8th grade and have always been passionate about it still.
What is your advice for freshmen?
Be organized and have good time management by far. Your future self will thank you on a weekend when all your homework and other tasks are done and you get to relax or hang out with friends without stress. Especially if you’re either in a seasonal sport, theater, and or band, your time is very limited so make sure you have a plan on how you’re getting your work done.
What’s your favorite class and teacher?
I had this class in the first semester of this year – American History at the Crossroads with Mr. B. Even though, yes, it is a more basic and easy class, it was extremely enjoyable to learn about your favorite music throughout history. Especially with my favorite genre of music being country. It’s interesting to learn about the roots of where it has come from and developed to what it is today.
What’s your favorite GC lunch food?
By far General Tso’s – has always been since freshman year.
What is your favorite GC tradition?
Spirit week going into homecoming
What’s one thing you wish you could change or have done differently?
Absolutely nothing. I’ve enjoyed Good Counsel throughout my four years and I am very excited for the next chapter of my life at the University of Mississippi.
What GC senior do you want on your side of the apocalypse?
Parker Jones and/or Ethan Bell.
