This past Valentine’s Day, many GC students, faculty, and staff decided to spread the love by donating blood to The American Red Cross. Donations to the Red Cross account for 40% of the nation’s blood supply.

Blood drives are critical since the only source of blood for transfusions is volunteer donors. 4.5 million Americans need blood transfusions every year, and 5,375 GALLONS are used every DAY. (givingblood.org)

Good Counsel had 40 participants attend this year’s blood drive; the total donation was 35 pints! One donation can save three lives, meaning we at Good Counsel have contributed to help at least 120 lives. The students had a great time! Thank you to everyone who donated!
