We have lost the opportunity to do many of the activities we previously took for granted during this quarantine period. These include hanging out with friends, going to theme parks, petting that cute dog that passed by you, traveling, and going to school in person. I think you agree with me when I say the third one is the biggest bummer. Although we have lost many things to do, there is one thing that quarantine has yet to take from most of us: studying and tv. Here is a list of nine shows to watch over Thanksgiving break and after. 

1. The Mandolorian (TV-14)

Everyone’s favorite bounty hunter and baby Yoda come back this season on Disney plus. After the Season 1 finale, we will be expecting Season 2 to be about finding Yoda’s homeland. For those of you interested, The Mandolorian is about a lone bounty hunter from a special clan who is given the task of retrieving a target. Still, after learning more about his target, he chooses to protect them. This will be a great watch for fans of the Star Wars franchise and those fascinated by sci-fi. It is streaming on Disney+.

2. Utopia

Utopia is a remake of the 2013 British show Utopia by Dennis Kelly. It depicts a group of people who get a hold of a cult underground graphic novel, which has predicted the century’s events. This causes them to be the target of a deep state organization. It is streaming on Amazon.

3. The Masked Singer (TV-PG)

This fall, we’ll be back to guessing which one of our favorite celebrities is The Masked Singer. For those new to the show, 12 celebrities who wear identity cloaking costumes go against each other in singing competitions. If a celebrity loses, they will face off against another loser to earn a chance to return to the competition. In that face-off, the loser will have to reveal their identity to the world. New episodes air every Wednesday at 8 pm on FOX.

4. The Good Doctor (TV-14)

The Good Doctor is returning for its 4th season this fall. This season we will be injected with a dose of reality as the show will take place during the pandemic. This means we will see how Dr. Shaun Murphy deals with his relationships being stuck at home while also seeing how the hospital deals with the pandemic. For those interested in The Good Doctor, the drama features Shaun Murphy, a surgeon. He is diagnosed with autism and savant syndrome. Murphy moves to San Jose, California, to work at the acclaimed San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital. New episodes air every Monday at 10 pm on ABC.

5. Jujutsu Kaisen (TV-14 )

Jujutsu Kaisen is a new anime based on Gege Akutami’s manga that came out on October 2. In a world where cursed spirits feed on humans, and a special organization hunts them down, our main character is Yuji. Yuji is a teenager who has lived a questionably everyday life until he is forced to eat a remnant of a cursed spirit. This causes him to be possessed by the most potent spirit known to man, Ryomen Sukuna. After being possessed, Yuji is left with two choices: to be killed while a threat to humanity or to eat the remaining pieces of Ryomen Sukuna and then be killed. The animation is created by MAPPA Studio, a Japanese animation studio known for its fantastic action scenes. If you love action, a good story, and a bit of humor, then this show is for you. 6. Blood of Zeus   

Created by Charley Parlapanides and Vlas Parlapanides, Blood of Zeus is a story loosely based on Greek mythology. Our main character Heron is a commoner living in Ancient Greece. He finds out that he is an illegitimate son of Zeus and is destined to save the world from a demonic army. Burdened with this daunting task, Heron must find a way to accomplish it despite his many obstacles. With great animation, storytelling, and dialogue, this series is a great watch. It is streaming now on Netflix.

7. Shark Tank (TV-14)

Shark Tank returned with its 12th season on October 16. It depicts a group of five successful entrepreneurs who are presented with several different start-up businesses. They then choose which companies in which they wish to invest. If you are a young entrepreneur or looking to become one, this is an excellent show for you. New episodes on Fridays at 8 pm on ABC. Also available to stream on Hulu.

8. Haikyuu (TV-14)

Haikyuu has returned to finish its 4th season, which got delayed due to COVID-19. It follows a boy who loves volleyball but is too short to compete with others in an actual match. However, what he lacks in height, he makes up for in jump, power, and stamina. With an amazing cast of characters and animation that makes you feel like you’re in the show, Haikyuu is an anime you don’t want to miss. It is currently streaming on Hulu, Crunchyroll.com, and VRV.

9. Attack on Titan (TV-MA)

Attack on Titan will be returning this December with its final season. This leaves a lot of time to catch up with the popular series. If you’ve heard about the show, but have no clue what it’s about, don’t worry. In a society isolated behind walls to protect them from giants, our main protagonist Eren Jaeger fights the monstrous titans that have finally managed to break through the city walls. After he loses his mother to one of them, he vows to get revenge. As the show progresses, we learn more about this world and the mysteries it holds. It is now streaming on Netflix and Tubi.
