Good Counsel Alum Stefon Diggs ‘11 Makes Game Winning Touchdown!

With ten seconds remaining in the NFL Playoff game between the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints, Case Keenum threw the ball to Stefon Diggs ‘11 at their own 39 yard line for the winning touchdown. Although the Vikings had a 17-0 lead by halftime, the Saints clawed their way back 24-23 with seconds left in the game. Even Diggs was surprised by the last play of the game and was waiting for someone to hit him: “I’m just waiting for someone to hit me. That’s why—did you see me?—I almost fell. I turned around to run, and I almost fell.” Diggs’s teammate, Adam Thielen, described the win by claiming “that play right there was God.” This miraculous turn of events is one that will go down in NFL playoff history. If the Vikings are victorious in their next game, they may have a good chance in winning the Superbowl.
Congrats to our Falcon turned Viking!
