The 2026 Spring Fling Week, organized by the GC Student Government Association (SGA), brought a noticeable increase in school spirit to GC. Each day of Spring Fling Week featured a different theme and activity designed to get students involved and excited as spring break approached. enjoy snacks such as ice cream and candy. These activities helped create a more lively and energetic atmosphere as all anticipated the arrival of spring break.
The week kicked off on Monday with Adam Sandler Day. Students showed up in long basketball shorts, oversized t-shirts, hoodies, and hats. It was an easy and fun theme to join in on, fully embracing the theme. Due to this simple and comfortable theme, participation was high. Student Sophie Alexander ‘27 said, “Adam Sandler day was my favorite because everyone went all in and we were able to be comfortable all day!”. This free and easy theme helped students ease into the week.

Tuesday followed with a St. Patrick’s Day theme, encouraging everyone to wear green. The hallways were filled with all different shades, from light greens to bright neon greens. It created a sense of unity among the school, helping students and faculty alike to celebrate this holiday. Student Amanda Dow ‘27 noted, “The day we all wore green was my favorite because it’s my favorite color”. Participation stayed high, proving how much students enjoyed the SGA’s choice of theme.
Inspired by the well-known movie Mean Girls, Wednesday’s theme was “On Wednesdays We Wear Pink”, bringing a colorful and energetic atmosphere into the building. This bold color stood out in the hallways, helping to keep the excitement going, even in the middle of the week.
Thursday was Squad Day, one of the most popular themes of the week. Students coordinated outfits with their friends, making them creative and interactive. This theme stood out as it encouraged students to plan and work together.
The week concluded with Neon Day on Friday. Bright, flashy colors filled the building, creating a fun, high-energy environment. It was the perfect way to wrap up the week and head into spring break on a high note.
Overall, Spring Fling Week was a big success. It gave students the chance to relax, have fun, and push through the final stretch before break. It fulfilled the goals of Ms. Fess, one of the organizers, who said the week was meant to “give people a fun, low-key break”. By providing something new to look forward to each day, the GC SGA helped create a more positive and connected school environment.
