Meet Danny Chung-A-Fung ‘24 – Sports Editor for The Talon and Executive Director of the Falcon News Network. He is a Libra who is planning on attending the University of Maryland majoring in journalism. Here is our Senior Spotlight with him!!
What’s your favorite extracurricular activity?
My favorite extracurricular activity was running the Falcon News Network (FNN). Even though the process of producing an episode is not always easy, I enjoyed coordinating the logistics and communicating with the team to be sure everything was in place for our episodes. I’m really proud of the content we were able to create during my time as executive director, and I hope FNN will only continue to get better going forward!
What is your advice for freshmen?
Don’t be scared to meet new people. Everyone is in the same boat and probably feels the same emotions that you are. You may be surprised that you have more in common than you think with your classmates!
What’s your favorite class and teacher?
Video Design & Production with Ms. Jonson
Honorable mention: US History with Mr. Peake
What’s your favorite GC lunch food?
I like the taco bar when I can add all the different toppings.
Close second would have to be burger day.
What is your favorite GC tradition?
Friday night lights and the football games! I did a year on the field/in the bleachers as part of the Pride of GC, and I’ve been in the student section the last 2 years. It’s always a great time and everyone brings a lot of energy!
What’s one thing you wish you could change or have done differently?
I wish I branched out a bit more and was more willing to meet new people. However, I’m grateful for experiences like Junior and Senior Retreat that allowed me to meet people that I may not have normally talked to!
What GC senior do you want on your side of the apocalypse?
Robbie Gresham. He’s the man!
