A Farewell from the Executive Editors

Dear Talon readers,

It’s hard to believe that the 2022-2023 school year is over already! We’re honored to have been your executive editors this past year. From leading meetings to editing and publishing articles, we’ve made many great memories and learned new skills.

The Talon has soared high this year. Our staff has been working harder than ever, and it’s sure paid off. We have published over 200 entries on our website since school started in August, including articles, photos, cartoons, and polls. We made 16 issues of our bi-weekly newsletter, with one more on the way next week. For the first time ever, we celebrated a school-wide Talon Day and Student Press Freedom Day. We are thankful for all the people that have made this possible, including our writers, photographers, moderators, editors, and cartoonist! We couldn’t have done it without them.

We’ve enjoyed growing with The Talon over the past 4 years. We joined as apprehensive freshmen, wrote our way through a pandemic and virtual school, and finished as executive editors. Now, it’s time for us to move on to the next chapter, and maybe join the school newspapers of our colleges! We know The Talon’s new executive editors, Idera Laifa ‘24 and Maggie Friel ‘26, will continue our mission. We wish the Talon Team the best of luck next year and in the future, and we’ll make sure to check out the website every now and then!

Thank you for sticking with us and giving us an unforgettable experience!
