Senior Spotlight #19: Ava Stewart

Meet Ava: a member of the Good Counsel Theater Company. Outside of school, she is on a swim team and does lots of arts and crafts. She is an Aquarius and heading to George Washington University in the fall. Here is our senior spotlight interview with her!

What’s your favorite extracurricular activity?

“Crafting and arts!”

What is your advice for freshmen?

“Confidence is key. Fake it until you make it. Everybody loves confidence; you can be weird, you can be ugly, all of the above, but as long as you have confidence, people will love you, and they will be drawn to you because they are insecure themselves.”

If you could be any animal or have any superpower what would it be?

“If I could have any superpower, it would be teleportation through time and space. I would use space only, but time is reserved in case I need it. If I could be any animal, I would be a rabbit because they are my favorite.”

What is your favorite book?

The Penderwicks by Alfred A. Knopf

What is your favorite GC tradition?

“I like going all out for football games. I think that’s fun. A new tradition that I like is dressing down on Fridays for seniors.”

What was your favorite part of virtual school?

“I liked being able to structure my own days, and I had time to do school. School was easy, and I could get good grades while also having time to do other stuff.”

What GC senior do you want on your side of the apocalypse?

“I would want Dean Rensberger on my side during the apocalypse because I feel like he’s got a lot of knowledge for things like that, and also he’s a boy scout. He’s got the life skills too.”
