A Winning Season

The 2018 Good Counsel Field Hockey Team

A+Winning+Season

There were epic individual and team successes for the GC Field Hockey team this past fall. It was a record-setting year for our program in many ways, and this is one of the most decorated teams in the history of our program.

After losing thirteen seniors in 2017, the 2018 team returned with only six players in total and had all of the odds stacked against them going into this season. After reloading with eighteen new players, the Falcons faced some of the toughest competition in the area: including teams from Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. They overcame all of the odds and won a championship in DOUBLE OVERTIME where the odds of winning were not in their favor. They did not let all of the bumps in the road defeat them (and if you saw the schedule of our scores – we took some bumps with our tough schedule 😊) and finished on one of the most well-executed games in Good Counsel Field Hockey history! Not only will this be a lasting memory for them in their sports careers but everything they have learned from this season, on and off the field, can be life lessons that will make them into even more beautiful, strong, and accomplished young females then they already are!
