Congratulations to the GC Girls Varsity Field Hockey Team for winning the WCAC Championship in DOUBLE overtime against St. John’s College High School! It was truly a team effort and their coaches couldn’t be prouder of the game they played.

The defense, led by Senior Goalie Cybelle Coskun, was a key asset to the Falcons victory! Cybelle posted twelve saves to force the game into double overtime! On the attacking side, Junior, Lauren Gerold,

scored the first goal of the night in the first half of the game. The game-winning goal was scored by Senior Sydney Sweeney, assisted by Junior Lauren Gerold, a minute and sixteen seconds into the second overtime. It was a TRUE team victory and a night that will not be easily forgotten.
