A New Generation Visits on Bring Your Child to Work Day

Friday, April 27th saw kids roaming the halls of GC, per usual. However, not all of these kids were GC’s high school students; every so often, one might have seen a kid considerably younger than your average Falcon keeping a faculty member company.

On this year’s Bring Your Child to Work Day, various faculty members were accompanied by their children throughout the school day. Some of these kids seemed very shy, which is understandable, considering the unfamiliar environment of hundreds of bigger, older kids, many of whom were showering them with attention.

Other faculty kids, on the other hand, were a bit more outgoing. One notable example was Liam Clark, Ms. Dean’s young son, who made a guest appearance in Friday morning’s Falcon Jeopardy to answer a few questions, representing the seniors with his mom. In one of the Blue 3 Algebra II classes, Mr. Hoag’s sons George and Francis were an unexpected entertainment, with their animated whiteboard drawings and their active countdown to lunchtime.

While we could not mention all of the faculty children who visited that day in this article, each one was a welcome addition to the GC family, if only for a day. In a review of the day’s events, Mr. Hoag reflected, “I certainly think it shows Good Counsel in the light of community […] it makes [the faculty] feel like part of the bigger community, just like the students.”
