The USA’s Medal Table

As the PyeongChang Olympics came to an end, the countries competing tallied up their medal counts. The games ended with Norway on top, followed by Germany, Canada, and finally the United States in fourth with nine gold medal wins and twenty-three total medals.

 

To break it down even further:

 

Nine Gold:

Jamie Anderson (snowboarding- women’s slopestyle)

Jessie Diggins & Kikkan Randall (cross country skiing team relay)

Red Gerard (snowboarding- men’s slopestyle)

Chloe Kim (snowboarding- women’s halfpipe)

Men’s Curling Team *First USA Olympic gold in curling!

Mikaela Shiffrin (alpine skiing- giant slalom)

Shaun White (snowboarding- men’s halfpipe)

David Wise (freestyle skiing- men’s halfpipe)

Women’s Ice Hockey Team *Finally defeated Canada after 20 years!

 

Eight Silver:

Jamie Anderson (big air snowboarding)

Alex Ferreira (freestyle skiing- men’s halfpipe)

Lauren Gibbs and Elana Meyers Taylor (bobsleigh)

Nick Goepper (skiing- slopestyle)

John-Henry Krueger (speedskating- 1000 m short track)

Chris Mazdzer (luge)

Mikaela Shiffrin (alpine skiing- ladies’ alpine combined)

 

Six Bronze:

Heather Bergsma, Brittany Bowe, Mia Manganello, Carlijn Schoutens (speed skating- ladies’ team pursuit)

Figure Skating Team Event

Arielle Gold (snowboarding- halfpipe)

Maia and Alex Shibutani (figure skating- ice dance)

Brita Sigourney (freestyle skiing- halfpipe)

Lindsay Vonn (alpine skiing)

 

Although this was not Team USA’s most victorious Olympics, it will still go down in history for these incredible athletes.
