On January 27th, the GC Pom Squad performed two dances at Marriotts Ridge High School in Marriottsville MD.

The Poms team competed against many schools from both Howard and Prince George’s Counties. They performed two different routines: the first was the GC Pom’s regular routine. Then came the second routine, an exciting prop dance with the song “Rise Up” by Andra Day blasting in the background. The ladies used a mix of ropes and large blocks to their advantage, and the many supporters of the team displayed plenty of energy and excitement as they cheered on the ladies. Our GC Poms had practiced for weeks, perfecting their routine, and it shows. After weeks of hard work and determination, the Poms won 1st place for both routines, and Captain Gavi Winter ‘18 won 2nd place in the Captain’s Award category. Congratulations ladies!
